One Skein: 30 Quick Projects to Knit or Crochet Summary:By Leigh Radford
These knitted and crocheted fashion accessories and decorative accents for the home vary in their required levels of skill, but all can be completed quickly and require only one skein of yarn. The stitch patterns and clear instructions make it easy for even procrastinators and the less-than-diligent to create a ruffled cravat, a drawstring bag, a tank top, cozy scarves, arm and leg warmers, lace wristlets, fingerless gloves, a mohair pillow, and even a sweater for a baby. Several projects do not require any new yarn at all—instead projects such as the Felted Striped Tote or the Labyrinth Circle Rug are designed using up a skein's worth of leftovers from other projects. A guide to terms and techniques, a resource directory, and a bibliography are also included.
Summary: Great little book Rating: 4 This book is great for using just one skein of yarn and for completing small projects quickly. There is something for everyone. Summary: Love the knitted bowlsRating: 4 I bought this book just for the knitted bowls and it did not disappoint. I have made about 7 of the bowls and given a few away as gifts. The recipients were delighted with the unique gift and raved that I made them something. Many of the projects are very fast and easy. The quick little felted purse was also fun to make. Buy this book for yourself or a friend as a fun treat. Summary: Good Patterns....Rating: 4 The patterns in this book look very 'doable'. Using one skein is a good idea to save money and still make something worthwhile. Summary: Want to try something new?Rating: 4 If you want to try a new stitch or use up the lone skeins in your stash, this is a good book to own. From leg warmers to pillows, bibs to scarves there is a lot to try.
Rating: 4 This little book has some cute and useful patterns for those of us whose stash has grown, and grown and grown..........................(groan)! With one skein we can make leg warmers, a tank top, a nice hat, gloves (each a different color), bibs, small bags, baby items and felted bowls. There are some silly patterns like the 'candy wrapper sachet'. Who wants to wrap up a single mint or sucking candy? Maybe there's someone out there who could use this but I can hardly imagine using my time on such a thing. I recommend this book for people with a lot of left over yarn. It has some good ideas on how to use it up.
