Understanding Normal and Clinical Nutrition 4th Edition Summary:By Eleanor Noss Whitney, Corrine Balog Cataldo, Sharon Rady Rolfes
UNDERSTANDING NORMAL AND CLINICAL NUTRITION, Eighth Edition, provides the most current and comprehensive coverage of both "normal" nutrition, such as digestion and metabolism, vitamins and minerals, and life cycle nutrition, as well as "clinical" nutrition related to diseases, such as nutrition and gastrointestinal, liver, and cardiovascular diseases. The text also incorporates a number of learning tools designed to help you retain the information and apply your knowledge so you are better prepared to work in a clinical setting. Features include case studies, "How To" boxes with examples of problem-solving in real-world situations, and study questions that further conceptual understanding of the material. Regardless of your course background, the text is organized and written in a clear, easy-to-follow format that will get you actively involved in the field of nutrition. Summary: Nice, good, and cheap Rating: 5 It was much cheaper than buying from my school's bookstore. And it's the exact same book. Buy internet not school bookstore. Summary: A 3 star rating with reservationsRating: 3 I had to give this book a 3 star rating for the ease of information it contains concerning the enzymatic pathways used by each vitamin or mineral. The book is also easy to read. Having said that however, this book is typical American Dietetic Association Clap Trap. I have both the 6th and 7th Editions of this book and with only small qualifications in the 7th edition, both books endorse aspartame and condemn stevia, regurgitate standard government misinformation about nutrition, knock dietary supplements, and actually list Steven Barrett's Quackwatch site as a reliable source of information on what is quackery and what is not! The chapters on Cancer and HIV and Nutrition are virtually useless. If you do buy this book for the basic information it contains on metabolic pathways and co-enzyme structures, then do yourself a favor and also get "Clinical Nutrition, A Functional Approach", put out by the Institute for Functional Medicine, and "The Real Vitamin and Mineral Book", by Shari Lieberman, among others. Find out the Real Cutting Edge science of Nutrition and why standard American Dietetic Association Fare with their Corrupt Corporate sponsors calling the shots in Government Nutrition information is not reliable. Summary: Nutrition bookRating: 4 This was good. I had no problems with either the book or the seller, everything was in order and shipped in a timely manner. Summary: Happy customerRating: 5 I was very happy with the timeliness of the delivery; the book was in nearly perfect shape. I almost paid $120+ for this book at the book store, so I was very happy with the condition of the book. Thumbs up for the seller. Summary: EXCELLENT BOOKRating: 5 EXCELLENT AND VALUABLE SOURCE OF INFORMATION
