You know, to be honest, I bought this book only because of the review below "we came from monkeys? That's not what my bible says!" I'm SO GLAD that there are books that state scientific facts other than simply what "bible says". I cannot imagine that in this day and age there are people who still believe that we were created by someone. This statement doesn't give any definitive answer at all, since any reasonable person would immediately ask, "then who created Him who created us?" This book would be a good gift for a child age 11-13. It doesn't give too graphic or detailed explanation of the bodily functions, yet it has many colorful pictures and SEM shots (Scanning Electron Micrograph) that are truly magnificent.

The human body is a might machine! God made us each unique and yet very much the same! Dive into the topic of the human body in this book. It's all here from muscles and bones to hearts and lungs! It's broken down into the chapters packed with tons of info! I did not like that the book presented evolution as fact. I fell that the author should at least have mentioned creation in this book.

As a high school health teacher, I am always looking for a quality text to utilize in my classroom. This book is just that. The pictures are clear and free from confusion. The text is concise and easily understood. I recommend this to parents and teachers alike. Even my brother in medical school uses a copy. It is useful for all ages.
