Knots and Straps Summary:By Vincent Stephens
Mr. Stephens enjoys the curves and valleys of a woman's body - to say the least! Illustrating said ladies of some dimension and heft, he also likes to see them in decidedly uncomfortable positions. It's why we call it "fantasy art!" A popular erotic and pin-up artist, Vincent Stephens has been assembling a mighty tome of booty-centric artwork, as well as a legion of ardent admirers. When we saw his portfolio of pretty young things, we just HAD to add him to our list of erotic illustrators! Knots & Straps volume one is loaded with eye-popping cheesecake and B&D artwork calculated to have you turning each page with breathless anticipation. Big girls don't cry - but they DO look great all tied up! Summary: I don't find obesity sexy! Rating: 2 The cover drawing is probably the sexiest illustration in this book! Too many of the drawing inside are of unattractive fat women with sagging skin. Yes, for some fetish enthusiasts that might be considered hot, but I was disappointed more than anything else. There are a lot of bondage drawings as well, but the artist seems to concentrate a bit too much on overly complex knots than making the situations erotic. On the positive side, there's a lot of women-with-other-women drawings, several of which include a sub/dom theme. But I don't share Mr. Stephens' fixation with overweight black women, so I seriously doubt I'll be purchasing Volume Two of this series when it is released. Summary: Big can be beautifulRating: 3 It's nice to see an art book with full-figured women. Stephens' work isn't as refined as other erotic artists, but he does have some skill in depicting the forms of larger women. As stated in other reviews of mine, this material isn't for everyone. If you're easily offended by sexually explicit art, this isn't for you. And it's definitely not for someone whose cup of tea strays to slimmer women. I'd like to see more of Stephens' work in the future to see how his art progresses. Summary: Curves & Valleys IndeedRating: 1 Knots & Straps? For a book that has such a title, one would expect all-bondage, every page. Such is (ahem) knot the case. And since when did 64 pages become "a mighty tome"? 1 page has a biography, 2 pages have montages of images from previous pages, one copies the cover, and of the 60 or so images, 15 have nothing to do with bondage at all. Now, let's address the women. They are certainly realistic, rather than "ideal" (as Jerry & George would say "Not that there's anything WRONG with that!") Yes, most of the women depicted are "Zoftig". The illustrator's website let me to believe that this theme was not so prevalent in his works that I would be bothered. Turns out I was wrong. Such is not my mug of tea. If that does not bother you, if you prefer such images, then by all means this book may indeed appeal to you. I'm just saying it did not appeal to me. Lesson learned. Summary: HOT ARTRating: 5 Do you like your women "thick" and "plump"? Do you like erotic art of women in bondage of all positions? Then, BUY this book!!
