The Fantod Pack Summary:By Edward Gorey
20 "Tarot-like" cards decorated with Gorey art & printed on glossy heavy stock paper. Also a Booklet illustrated by Edward Gorey. All comes in a Nice Box also Decorated by Gorey. Summary: Nice for a Gorey collection... Rating: 4 This little box contains 20 "fantod cards", each with a name and an illustration, and a booklet explaining how to read the cards as a means of telling a funny and depressing fortune. They are like tarot cards, but you won't find very many positive meanings if you try to do a "reading" with them. The black-and-white illustrated cards - which include 'The Limb', 'The Blue Dog' and 'The Ancestor', are nice quality and have many different meanings attached to each, as outlined in the accompanying booklet. Be ready for predictions such as accidents at various locations, and all manner of bad behavior and betrayal from both yourself and people around you. The drawings are simple and creepy, standard Gorey style, and the fortunes associated are all written with his standard dark, macabre humor. If you're into tarot cards, I don't recommend this deck, as it is not meant to be taken seriously for self-exploration or reading fortunes. If you love Edward Gorey, like I do, then it is a nice addition to a collection and worth taking a look at as a sort of kitschy accessory to his volumes of work. And if you don't know who Edward Gorey is, I'd highly suggest you go find his collected works, in the Amphigorey books, right away! :) NEWER EBOOKSSponsored LinksThe Fantod Pack Keywordsgorey cards nice booklet tarot don illustrated fortunes standard fantod meanings decorated collection amphigorey drawings creepy highly style collected betrayal booklet illustrated cards decorated gorey collection fantod cards booklet explaining tarot like cards description tarot like europe tarot tarot cards gorey version |
