The Macchi C.200 is today, still one of the Italian airplanes of most interest to the enthusiasts of the Air Force, both for model making and for its' crucial part in a period of history. Although the main and most important model making firms have tended to neglect it as a subject for plastic injection, the Macchi aircraft has been well represented with craftsmanlike work by minor firms. The results of the work are not much different from that which the major producers of kits would have obtained if they had wanted to produce the Saetta. None of us 'Italophile' model makers has yet lost hope of soon seeing an injection molded C.200 by a major manufacturer. However, the presence on the market of no fewer than three different alternative kits encourages us to undertake, without any difficulty, the construction of those kits which are certain to give good results and a faithful resemblance to scale of this attractive Italian aircraft.
