A Geography of the Carolinas Summary:By D. Gordon Bennett, Jeffrey C. Patton
Rating: 5 This book is a collection of short and well researched essays on North and South Carolina that I stumbled on by accident in a local book store. Though the cover looks something like an atlas or a workbook, everything inside is a delight and written with the kind of polish and insight that usually skips geography/history books! The chapters are from well regarded college professors throughout the region and are fairly short. I particularly enjoyed the sections on pre and post Civil War history/geography and on the economic history of the region - the latter is probably the dominant theme of this book. It would be a perfect read for anyone who emigrated to the Carolinas from another part of the country and wants to know more about the region. password: gigle.ws NEWER EBOOKSSponsored LinksA Geography of the Carolinas Keywordsgeography carolinas regarded chapters professors insight polish enjoyed skips pre theme perfect emigrated dominant economic delight civil sections atlas parkway maps wonderful patton jeffrey gordon bennett resource wonderful resource bennett jeffrey gordon bennett |
